Me pēhea mātau e tautoko i a koe? | How can Disability and Wellbeing Support help you?

Support is available for all students with physical, intellectual, sensory, learning disabilities or who have mental health challenges. We can also support students who are recovering from a short term injury or illness where this impacts upon study. We work closely with the cultural support team and use Te Whare Tapa whā as our guiding model for holistic support and connectedness. Support is available at theTairāwhiti campus and Learning Centres.  


  Support is based on your individual learning needs. These can include:

 

Information, advice and guidance on community   services and resources

 

 

Advice and guidance to you and tutorial staff on reasonable accommodations

 

On campus mobility parking permits

 

Loan of ergonomic furniture and equipment

 

 

1-1 learning support

 

 

Support you to attend meetings with tutorial  staff, community organisations and health professionals in relation to your study

 

Alternative test and exam arrangements

 

 

New Zealand Sign Language (NZSL)

 

Assist you to identify grants and funding to meet your learning requirements

Information provided to us is confidential. However we may need to talk with staff and external services to best meet your needs and we encourage you to talk with your programme coordinators and tutors early in your study.

Our campus is wheelchair accessible.

We have accessible parking spaces on ourTairāwhiti campus. Permits are available for full time and part time students and staff. Click here to apply for an EIT mobility parking permit.
