Library Services: Auckland Campus



Primo Search is the discovery tool that is used to locate books, journals and e-resources.







EIT students studying at our campus in Auckland have access to a wide range of services. Students may borrow books and access our electronic resources.

How can I borrow books?

If you would like to request a single item of Library material you can fill in a Request Form for Auckland Students.

If you have a request for more than one item please email the list to with your name and student ID number mobile number and postal address.


How do I get a book or article the Library doesn’t hold?

We may find an alternative in the collection or we can interloan from another library. Interloans take time to arrive so please plan ahead when requesting. You may complete the Interloan Online Form to request. If you are requesting more than one item please email -


How will items be sent to me?

Material will be sent out within 24 hours of your request arriving at the library, unless the item requested is already out on loan, in which case we will notify you.

Books are normally sent to you by courier. However you can request items to be sent to the Auckland Campus if your delivery address is not easily accessible to the courier company. Articles are sent to you via email.


How do I return items to Twist Library or student can drop off at Auckland Campus?

We operate a Freepost service for return of books. When returning books via post you can recycle the courier bag by turning it inside out, or you can use your own packaging.

Twist Library uses the DX Mail service, and we prefer if you can use DX Mail to return your items. You may send your books back using NZ Post also.
Use this tool to find a DX Mail box near you, or a DX Exchange where you can hand over larger items that will not fit in a postbox.

How many books can I borrow?

You may have up to 30 items on issue at one time.


How long can I keep these items?

The Auckland campus loan periods are as follows:

Standard loan - 4 weeks(inclusive of postage time)
Heavy demand material - 2 weeks (inclusive of postage time). These books are renewed for one week per renewal only.

Photocopies of articles or chapters are yours to keep. There is no charge for photocopying unless large quantities are requested, in which case we will advise you of the cost.

Books may be renewed three times if no one else has requested them. You may renew a book online through Primo Search (using My Account), or by email or phone. Any books renewed after their due date will incur fines.


How can I pay library fines?

Please go and see the Auckland EIT Campus Administrator to arrange payment of your library fines.

I've forgotten my login password, what can I do?

You can reset your password using the online 'Reset Password' tool from EIT. You must have a mobile phone registered with EIT to do this. If you need to register a mobile phone please contact the Auckland EIT Campus Registrar:

How can I add money to my account so I can print?

You need to add money to your PaperCut account in order to print. You can top up your PaperCut account by using the DocuPos kiosk located on the 5th floor.

What if I lose my student ID card?

It will cost you $5.00 to replace your Student ID card. Please go and see the Auckland EIT Campus Administrator to have your card replaced.
